Summer Theater Camp

Today, I went to the Willow Glen Children’s Theater Summer Camp from 10:00 to 3:00 at the Willow Glen Frank Bramhall Park. It will go on for four weeks. The leaders there were Jordan, Michael, Sydney, Paige, Nikki, Christina, Deborah, Brianna and Amy. The director’s name is Gavin. This week’s theme is East Coast and today’s theme was Washington D.C. In the morning, we had games. We played a game called Mr. President first. It is basically like Indian Chief. There is a guesser, who tries to find out who the President/First Lady (Indian Chief) is. The President does a motion, and everybody follows them. The guesser has three guesses. Only one of the presidents won. Next we played a game called Debate, where we used an adjective, noun and verb to make a phrase. We choose two people each for two teams (For and Against) to be the people who act out the words. We also choose one person for each team who will try to figure out the phrase by watching the acting people. Once they have figured it out, they have to say: “ I am for/against _____ _______ _______  (Noun, Adjective, Verb.) There was a time when the two guessers said the phrase at the same time.  By the time we finished playing it, it was lunchtime. I played Connect Four after I finished eating. When lunch ended, we did a skit. We were supposed to base the skit off a story and add changes. We copied Red Riding Hood. The changes we had were no killing Wolf, two wolves and a friend who saved Red from being eaten by two wolves in the forest. One skit I thought was really funny was a skit based off of Jack and the Beanstalk. There were two people and one thing. The thing was a cookie monster. Instead of selling a cow, they sold a talking pig and instead of getting magic beans they got magic cherries. They climbed up a 2,000 foot cherry tree the next day and met some giants. The oldest child said,” I’m a fan of the Giants. Are you?” The giants said,” Yes,” so they watched the Super Bowl. Later a Dwarf came and told them that he would eat them up if they didn’t pick the cherries. They didn’t and went down the tree. They then remembered that they didn’t have an axe. Just then, George Washington chopped it down. After that, we went home. I had a really fun time at camp today. I hope tomorrow will be even better!
